Wish I could go. Sounds great.
So glad the Smog are still able to get it together... |

Me too! I did see that it's a standing show though, or we would be tempted to drive up. I wonder who all is going to be there; Gary, Marc, Danny, who else?

There hasn't been a Smog show without those 4 in over 20 years. Jody Stevens can't make it so look for Peter Anderson or Tim to be manning the revolving drum chair. And Chan Poling (Suburbs) will be guesting on keyboards. Should be a fun show for a great cause. |

Thanks PD, yes, it will be great! Kraig, Tim or Pete! Oh, I really wish I could be there, we were at the big benefit for Karl, was it 2004? I've gone too long without a Golden Smog fix.

Tanks ungere. I'll be driving north on exactly the 17th, but too far east for this kind of pleasure, damn, it would be nice. I've only seen the Smog once, in Washington DC. It was the rockinest show I have ever been to! Tim's band played first, what an incredible tease. All the players seemed to really let their hair down.
Anyone notice this? At the bottom of the poster, anyone care to explain what this means? "This activity is made possible in part by a grant provided by the Minnesota State Arts Board, through an appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature from the Minnesota arts and cultural heritage fund with money from the vote of the people of Minnesota on November 4, 2008, and a grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation Minnesota."

Update:
Proceeds benefit Karl’s Fund (Karl Mueller) at the Minnesota Medical Foundation. Acts will include The Magnolias; Golden Smog with special guests Chan Poling & Jeff Tweedy; Dave Pirner and Dan Murphy; Jordan Gatesmith of Howler; and Curtis A’s Dark Click. Better get tickets before the Wilco hipster idiots get wind..

Wow.
By which I mean, 'wow, a post from greekguy,' not 'wow, Jeff Tweedy.' Tweedy gets a 'hmm, cool.' |

A Smog show or new record might be the one thing that could get me excited about music these days.
Come to NYC, dudes... |

I'll ask you politely to remove that picture.
I shared that with you in confidence. I thought you were my friend. |
