Question

All this new music has my head spinning!
In a good way!

I purchased the Anthology deluxe edition (with the 5 track bonus disc)
yesterday at Best Buy.

Did someone mention other songs (not available with the BB version)
available as downloads from Amazon.com?

What are they?
I need to get those!

HELP!

It would be interesting to hear the remastered RDM without the overloading, you're right.

I have to admit, I am guilty of not liking the "over loaded" (which really means DISTORTED!) vocals. If the remastered RDM rectifies that, it will be the first of the remasters I get. Now, I have to go listen to Anthology and see if those tracks sound better, as Haggis indicated they do.

I said they do too!

Here's the proof (er...attached...).

Save It For A Rainy Day. The top 2 tracks are the left and right channels of the original CD. The bottom 2 tracks are the left and right channels from Anthology. Those huge flat lines on the original CD are overload - distortion. No flat lines on Anthology!

"You betcha!" in my Sarah Palin imitative way....

And it's been quite a while since I've been at Facebook, thanks for remembering me

I hadn't really noticed on the anthology, but I didn't really think about it, just listened to them. Mostly I've been listening to the bonus discs for obvious reasons. I am quite happy to see they fixed this issue with that album. I always loved RDM, but it makes me cringe to listen to parts of it, because the levels were so damn annoying. I know it's become standard to remove the dynamic range from albums, but RDM went beyond that, and introduced EXTREMELY noticeable clipping. I'm not one to notice on most things (i have no complaints about the replacements reissues for instance), but on RDM it just annoyed me to no end. I can't wait for that to get reissued. Of course, I plan on getting all the reissues the day they come out.

I wish Anthology wasn't compressed at all, but the EQ is nice, and the lack of clipping seals the deal.

And hello from Madison!

I just have to ask, and there's actually a separate thread for this, but how are y'all dealing with a purple Favre?

Yup, in a separate thread compiling press stuff:

But it's a great interview, especially since Mark and Gary have been too busy lately to do a whole lot of proper interviews.
