Tom's "solo" project was a combination of many things, including the Traveling Wilburys sessions and his hanging out with Jeff Lynne, who also released a solo album somewhere subsequent to all these jam sessions and such.
I would have loved to be a fly on the wall during what turned out to be the sessions for those Wilburys records. I can only imagine the flotsam and jetsam flying about with all these BIG STARS together at Lynne's studio, Petty's house, Dylan's buddy's garage or what-have-you...
Los Heartbreakers appeared likely in varying numbers or at seperate times is my guess...

2 cents

I definitely agree with jomama and others. Bottom line = follow your muse and do what you want.

Besides, can't we have it all? Gary works on a solo LP and tours THE SMOG, while Mark does the solo LP thing. then when both are done, they get together (under some new name) and make a great record. And all the music and life experience they've had in the meantime can only strengthen that. If they're still friends after all this - they always will be. Don't we get everything that way? Don't we get more music that way, and more variation?

Or, are there people that just want Mark and Gary to get together and write HOLLYWOOD TOWN HALL VOL 2, VOL 3, VOL 4, and so on and so on.....

Sorry, Glacier it's not gonna happen, nor should it.

Oh and who's this crowsghost person anyway?!

Sure, Hollywood Town Hall Revisited by The Artists Formerly Known as The Jayhawks....
What's wrong with that?

And, I'm still not Glacier.

Maybe Gary and Mark could do a hip-hop double album like the Outkast dudes.
