Dogs (Non Jayhawks-Related)

I'm tired of dogs. I'm also tired of their owners. All dogs do is bark. Actually, they also go poo poo and pee pee. They can't talk.

I'd like to see more effort devoted to endangered species like the spotted owl.

If you own a dog, keep him on a leash or gas him.

I've had it with dogs.

There's nothing interesting about dogs.

ever notice how the street people, bums or vagrants all seem to have dogs???
they can't take care of themselves or keep a job, but they have a dog...
I won't give spare change to anyone with a dog as a prop to get my $$$

I am a big fan of dogs, but I also can't stand to see a homeless person with a dog. I therefore send an urgent message to all homeless people reading this thread:

If you are homeless, with a dog, find that dog a home. It shouldn't be hard. Do it today.

AGAIN, musky hits it. Thank you.

No way can I EVER feel anything but pure admiration and affection for dogs. Mine is 15 now, and she's a wonderful teacher of life's lessons. Optimism, for one. Every day I walk to my daughter's bus stop with her and my wonderful canine companion "Kelli K., the Golden." There's this tree where squirrels hang out at the trunk because this one homeowner sets out bird seed. Every day, for years during the school year, Kelli sneaks up to the tree in an always futile attempt to catch one of them. Every day she misses by inches , it seems, and is left with an expression, as she looks up the tree at the now safe squirrel, that says nothing less than "I may have missed you today, but look out because I'm gonna be back tomorrow, and you're not gonna be so lucky then". Anyone who owns a dog, I bet, can really appreciate the essence of what makes them, indeed, "man's best friend".

I love dogs as well, unfortunately I do not have one, due to yard size and lack of a fence, also my wife and I are very busy.

We however do have a cat. Lots of folks have problems with cats, my wife was one of these folks. We ran along this 1 pound kitten one day while on a walk. If you get a kitten and watch it grow you feel much different than when some strange cat comes up and sticks its butt in your face. They are much different than dogs, much more instinctual. It's more like having a roomate than a pet. They move in and take over the house. I can see how some folks might find this frustrating, but a cat is active and entertaining. They're also fun to mess with a little. Not mean, but influencing their instincts. My cat, who was named Louris, can actually fetch. He has a stuffed Tiger he will bring back to the couch after he has properly killed it. A cat is great at breaking up the monotony of the home.

I'm afraid to talk about the Jayhawks, this is a much safer thread. If I say I like the Jayhawks and their latest record, I may be called a druggie and a lunatic. I figure this thread was the safest way to communicate with you folks.

His dad has a stuffed spotted owl in their basement.
