The 19th for me since that's a Saturday...and the Jennerbug's dancing is over until after Labor Day...my Saturdays are free.

Likely Saturday depending on how the baseball tourneys are scheduled. My guess is that the Saturday ticket is going to be a really tough one to get. With the majority of the Hawks fans getting up there a bit in age, the ol First Avenue at night then work the next morning causes a few aches and pains...unless of course one is 'ill' on Monday and Tuesday.......

For me, Sunday the 20th providing I can get tickets, and they are not sold out (I feel at a disadvantage being out of town, but am checking the First Ave website often).

Perhaps the 19th or 21st, too, depending on my travel plans.

I've put the word out to the account managers here for our MN accounts that I am open for travel the week before or after the concert.

Of course I got a lot of teasing, but there was also a bit of interest. My fingers are now crossed.

As luck would have it, I'll be in Minneapolis that weekend and I plan on going to the show on the 21st.

Can anyone describe what the "sightline seating" is like -- i.e. how far away from the stage are the tables, how is the sound, etc. and how it compares to being on the floor.

Sightline seating, such as it is, is available only in the mezzanine, and there is very little of it. I believe it's true that you must reserve and pay handsomely for it these days (used to be first come first serve as I recall). I'd guess total number of tables in the whole place is about 20, and 8-10 of those are in the back on the main floor...not really sight line. The ones that are in the mezzanine are almost all above stage right, and they're about 30 feet from the stage as the crow flies.

My experiences at First Avenue are almost without exception floor-based experiences, and so I can say very little about tables. I will say that on the floor, it's better if you're a few rows back if sound is your greatest concern. Up front, where I most enjoy being, the sound can often be pretty muddy.

Thanks for the info. Given a choice between the sound and view the sound is more important to me.

Does anyone know how loud a typical Jayhawks concert is? I was at a concert a few months ago that I was expecting to be loud so I brought my sound meter. It averaged about 106 dB with peaks up to 110 dB -- which was even too loud for me wearing ear plugs. My ears (with earplugs) had enough about half way through so I left.
