Best Soundtrack

And how about the best soundtrack? Tough to call, but here are a few:

Practically any Scorcese movie (that guy has great musical tastes, IMO)
Pulp Fiction
Magnolia

the music by PETER GABRIEL is even better.

I have a soft spot for Dazed & Confused and for Judgement Night. Love Fallin' by TFC on that.

Definitely Dazed & Confused, but here are a few of my favorites:

1) The Crow

2) Moonlight Mile

3) Blow

4) A Mighty Wind

5) Lock, Stock, & 2 Smoking Barrels

This is really stupid of me to point out, because you probably already know this, but the song Fallin' is inspired by Free Fallin' by Petty & The Heartbreakers. It's an awesome song...

I also like "Just Another Victim" by Helmet & House of Pain.

Good choice...

Yeah, knew that Eric. TWO great songs for the price of one!

Love the Slayer track as well.

The best soundtrack ever is easily The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly by Enrico Morricone.

High Fidelity

How can you go wrong with a soundtrack that includes these:

Dry the Rain - The Beta Band
I'm wrong about everything - John Wesley Harding
Who loves the sun
and
Oh Sweet Nuthin' - The Velvet Underground

I liked the movie, but didn't enjoy half as much as the book. Much better musical influences (where is Gram Parsons in the film?). Actually the change of places (Chicago for London, I think it was Chicago, wasn't it?), doent make any good to the movie. The American rootsy singer exiled in the UK, is much a better character than the one on the movie.
Best soundtrack ever? That's easy, "The last waltz" ;-)
As someone said any Scorsese film has a terrific soundtrack (Goodfellas i an incredible compilation, as it is Casino, and talking about original music, what can we say about Herrmann's score on Taxi Driver?). Tarantino is also great picking songs.

What a great commentary, Jony. Very true. Also... you'll likely all razz me for this, but I actually learned to appraciate cheesy eighties music somewhere in the late nineties. I love the soundstracks to She's Having A Baby and Pretty in Pink. Echo and the Bunnymen, OMD, Smiths, Love and Rockets, Kate Bush....WOW. Got these as record store promotions where my older sister worked when these things come out. The day my collection is vintage, these will be two of my favorite prizes!

Two films I like in part for their eclectic sound tracks - Rushmore and Joe versus the Volcano.
