Just got this in the mail today while I was at work. Listening to it now for a second time and it is really great stuff. Good tunes, great playing and singing. All round top notch stuff. You know how good a song is when people start singing it when they are doing mundane things around the house.

After two spins the track Missed You This Morning was being sung various times by everyone in the house here this evening. Doing dishes, brushing teeth and making coffee. Now you know that's a catchy mofo of a tune!

Really good vibe from the band too, sounds like the enjoy it and it isn't just a job. Voices harmonise well too. A touch Blue Rodeo, a bit of CSN and I am getting something of a very early REM vibe off it somewhere too but that is more of a feel than anything in particular.

I hate people who can play music and make it seem effortless and just fun to do.....all y'all is bastards.

Bloody good stuff and the very best of luck with the band!

Thanks for the kind words Cale. It's nice to know that the songs I write while washing dishes are actually being sung by others while washing dishes.

Right, so mine just arrived today (finally, damn border).

My thoughts are much along the lines of Calexico's.

On first full listen, I found the standout tracks were "Missed You This Morning" (will that chorus ever leave my head?), "Judy Blue" and "Singled Out".

Whoever it is singing on "Storyteller" reminds me quite a bit of Greg Keelor from Blue Rodeo.

The musicianship is quite good all the way through. Though I'd like to say that I really did enjoy Matt's pedal steel.

The album rocks all the way. I'll definitely be listening to this quite a bit.

Once again, thanks for the kind words. Its hard to keep playing music when you have jobs and kids...the folks that have bought the album have enjoyed it, it seems...hopefully that will lead us into making another.

Thanks,

Chris
