Gary Louris to produce the Brilliant Mistakes?

I have it from reliable source that NYC based band The Brilliant Mistakes have made a bid to Gary Louris for him to produce their next album.

Their last album 'Dumb Luck' was considered a critic's succes but never sold outside a small fanbase. Must sound familiar to Gary.

Anyway check this band out at www.thebrilliantmistakes.com

GARY and da BOSS don't mix

If the Brilliant Mistakes have NOTHING to do with Bruce Springsteen, I'm in...
If, though, they took their name from the song by their great New Jersey hero, I'd recommend Mark Olson produce, or even Mark Pearlman...
Gary is too cool for any Boss-related stuff.
Now, if he's looking for work, have him produce Neil Young or J. Mascis from Dinosaur Jr. (neil young the sequel...).

...or Jason Molina from Magnolia Electric Co (Neil Young's grandson)

This would be amazing! Actually just getting a new album from the Brilliant Mistakes would be great; if Gary were to produce, well that's icing on the cake.

Indeed a new album would be great. They are one of the best bands I discovered thru here. Thanks to the guy with the clogs and the attitude...

I won a cd from him, too. Unfortunately it disappeared in a house move about 2 years ago. If anyone has a copy of a Paradiso show (I don't know the date but I'm pretty sure it's the same one that "Leave No Gold" comes from on Precious Time) and is willing to make me another copy...pm me.

Is Bruce Springsteen really Elvis Costello in disguise? No, that must surely be a (brilliant) mistake.

1st let me say... What the hell are you talking about. How is this thread/post/band name related to Bruce?

Brilliant Mistakes? Do you mean Brilliant Disguise?? That wasn't such a brilliant mistake now was it. We get it, we get it, you don't like Bruce! Well good for me then. But if you try to cut down other artists, you should make sure you got your cut/facts straight.

2nd, The Brilliant Mistakes are great and both of their albums are a lot of fun. I have been waiting for a while for some news on the new album, and this would be great! I hope this happens.

P.S. The Brills have nothing to do with Springsteen(especially not their name). They sound nothing like the E Street Band, except that there are horns in a bunch of songs.

P.S. Thanks for the news Lenno!

I just would thank Lenno, I discovered Brilliant Mistakes website via his alternative fan page and I really appreciated it.
I can't stop listening to "Unsuspecting girl" and "New Orleans".
Such a gentle brilliant way to pop music.
