Varsity Theatre

Does any people know when tickets go on sale for this show?

The theatre website says that there is a "confidential event" scheduled for Feb. 21. Maybe we aren't supposed to tell anybody about it or something.

I hope I didn't let the cat out of the bag.

If it is a secret, just PM me the deets.

I called the Varsity Theatre and they told me that tickets were only being sold through ticketmaster, but didn't know when they would be available. I keep checking ticketmaster every other day or so and so far nothing listed. Seems a number of the other shows in February at the various cities are on sale already, so I"m not sure what the deal is. All I know is that one way or tother I plan on being there, currently trying to recruit a couple friends to go up also, though I have to admit, it seems like it's a hard sell for those not really familiar with the Jayhawks (yes, there are people like that out there).

The show is no longer a secret as far as the Varsity Theater's website is concerned. $23 advance tickets, $26 day of. 18+. No further details at this point.

Information Society is regrouping for a Varsity Theater show? For some strange reason, my older brother loved that band.

ok.

here's the dish on the Varsity Theater...

apparently just last month they got their capacity increase approved after they finally installed all the required new sprinklers.

that means the capacity is now 814. makes sense why they chose the Varsity for this Louris/Olson show now, as that's the same size as the Fitzgerald just about, and not much smaller than the Pantages.

or.......

there's an even bigger chance that we'll be packed in like Sardines because they can fit over 300 more people into the venue now.

many will wait until the night of the show to purchase tix

this IS a Saturday night in their "hometown"....

Tickets

Spoke with a woman in the box office at the Varsity. She didn't know why the tickets weren't available yet (once they're listed on the calendar, the tickets are usually available). She indicated that she didn't think there would be Ticketbastard availability. Varsity website says tickets can be purchased at Loring Pasta Bar down the block. She suggested checking back in a week or so. I intend to keep hounding so I'm in the door.

C'mon Musky, you know the Axeman will want to see this. He drove down to Rochester for Gary's show, and there's a Pink Floyd guitar strum calling his name on the new record.
I dunno which direction I'll be coming into town from as I want to hit some of the shows before this one as well depending on things that are throwing a wrench into all my plans--wife losing her job for one...
Of course, a winning lottery ticket tonight would buy those Carnegie Hall tickets and airfare too, and it is on a weekend...

Hmmm, you weren't able to make Guthrie show were you?

From memory, that place was rather packed, and how many of those ppl were from the fanpage? Maybe 20-25, so where'd all the other 800 ppl come from then?

Come on Musky, get your ticket before there are none!!
