Retired

I retired at the end of April after 35 years of working in construction management in downtown Seattle. Four years for NBBJ and 31 for the Coast Guard. Lovin' it. Only problem is the growing congestion with so many people moving here, thanks to the Amazon headquarters and a multitude of tech companies expanding.

Been playing guitar, crabbing, fishing, Mariner games, local music festivals. Probably drinking too much beer with no need to be sharp in the morning anymore.

Have seen three excellent concerts so far this year: Billy Joel at Safeco Field, String Cheese Incident and Don Henley. My reviews:

From what I read, these companies are increasing their staffs the most in Seattle now: Amazon, Facebook, Tableau, Zillow, Oracle, Alibaba, Apple, Dropbox, Sears, Hewlett Packard. I think that all of the big tech companies have offices here, including Google, Expedia, etc. Microsoft and Nintendo America were founded here in the 1980s, and the techie labor they attracted was part of the reason Jeff Bezos headquartered Amazon here, and with their growth, more companies followed.
