He'd better leave early then. On the Taste website the two bands are scheduled to start at 3 and finish at 5

It was an incrediible day in the greatest city in the world.

After a very short set by Everest,we got an hour and a half of great Jayhawks music. The band seemed pumped up and ready to play all night long.We got lots of hits a few new songs and Gary was jammin his ass off all day.The band played liked they had beeen rehearsing and it showed. The vocals really stood out too.It was a real small crowd in the seating area and on the lawn.By the time the Jayhawks took the stage it had cooled down and there was a real nice breeze for the band and the crowd to really enjoy seeing this fantastic FREE concert on Lake Michigan.

Now it's time to rest up and get ready to see them again in 24 hours in Milwaukee at Summefest with Alejandro Escovedo opening for them. With a little luck another great recording will be made 2 days in a row.

Hope to see you all there for a Brat & a Beer.

Nice, Sam and Andy--looking forward to this. I tried to nudge the Mrs. into making a trip to Milwaukee because she's a huge Alejandro fan from way back, but it didn't fly.

What Jomama, you headin' for Milwaukee? We're already sort of there already, only a lil out of our way back to Iowa, so we're gonna head up to Summerfest as well.

Blazin' hot, thought we would melt right in our seats during Everest's set. As soon as the Jayhawks came on stage, a cool breeze started and the roaring sun was making it's way sloooowly behind the band shell, so we were real comfortable for the show. The sound was great, and it wasn't too loud, it was just right......we had a great time! Gary didn't get a chance to really wail things out too long on the guitar because the powers that be limited their time on stage. We're promised tonight a fuller blown set....hope that really is the case. But, God, did they ever sound fantastic yesterday.....

We've got some stuff to take care of here in Geneva, then heading back to Greek town at the Parthenon for bellies full of Vegetarian Mousaka. Made a salad and Baklava stop at the Artopolis on the way back to the train. It's a Chicago trip ritual. See you all at Summerfest tonight

(Oh yeah, setlist should be forthcoming......I have my new HD camera, so still shots and video to come as well soon after we return to Iowa.)
