Jayhawks at "Home Depot" (in Iowa?!)

Mr. LiladyK. just came home from Home Depot, and while he was waiting in line w/his home improvement purchases, he heard playing over the speaker system, the entire song of SIFARD from start to finish.....not the musak version, but the full bodied album version from the band itself

They're also on the lastest "Hear Music" compilation at Starbucks

Madman, Save it For A Rainy Day, and All The Right Reasons are on the tape that plays in the store

I was at Chipotle today ( they always have good music on their system: Wilco, Lucinda, Soul Couging and more), and I heard I'm Gonna Make You Love Me. Which ordinarilly would have been a small shock. However it was a large shock as they were playing the version of it from the Womans Club CD.

Last Tuesday was waiting around to start to observe an all night casino cash/inventory count in remote north-central North Dakota, kind of bummin that I was there and it was going to be a long night, and out of nowhere Save It For a Rainy Day came over the satellite radio system that they have. All the nickel-slot-jockeys were rockin out! Was pretty cool, picked me up for a bit for the rest of the night.

I used to work at Home Depot, heard all kinds of cool music. I hear the Jayhawks in all kinds of retail stores. I can't help but get frustrated. How can it help. If you know who it is, you already have the record. If you don't know, hear it, and like it, how do you figure out who it is. I'm sure promo people bust their asses to get the music on these stations, but I don't know how much it helps. I used to hear Somewhere in Ohio all the time. I still hear Smile songs. They might be the most played retail store band of all time. I also hear a lot of R. Adams.
