it keeps on changing, but here's one:

sunshine
stealing stage time
from the moon and stars above

I bought a shovel, dug this hole I'm in.

-Say You'll be mine

Does anyone know where I could get a copy of Saturdays show in Madison? Please let me know, thanks.

II don't know what day it is,
I can't recall the seasons
And I don't remember how we got this far
All I know is I'm loving you for all the right reasons
In my sky you'll always be my morning star,
Just cos I'm a fat, soppy bugger. OK?

Wow, I can't believe how many that ya'll have already posted would have been my first picks as well. So, how about this one as one of my favorties:

We were stranded on the vine
Destitute and shaken
Looking for a sign
Left hung out to dry
Our backs against the wall
Stoned out of our minds

-Trouble

(yea, yea, I know it is more than just a line)

I think that Trouble may be winning the contest for most quoted.

It's a combo of the lyrics and the way Gary sings this line that just gets to me. It's a heart breaker:

I could never fit into your plans. I'm nobody's man.

Either:

Two hundred yards in front of the man
He could never see his way to another day

or:

This crumpled dollar bill in my back pocket
Reminds me I had twenty

or maybe:

God of the rich man ain't the God for the poor
Autumn ending the state hospital's closed
Then wouldn't you know
Winos and office girls in the park

Tony Glover sums it up the best:

- were mostly written by Mark Olson & Gary Louris, who use words like kids use fingerpaint - they make swirls and flourishes and scars, then they turn the scene in on itself and make it roll over some weird filigree along the edges.

Mine is:

"Where you are is who you are when you're sleeping" from Poor Little Fish. I think it's magical.

Lots of great replies. You can never go wrong with:

Wise words.....

"What you regret" you softly said
"Are things you never do"
I regret I didn't turn
And run back home to you

Now there's a station not so far away
I listen in most every single night
Wide as that valley I can't cross
This soul's been misplaced in the desert it was lost...
