In my opinion, you are TOTALLY wrong about Talk to Me being the only good song on Palace.

Do you own the album, or have you only listened to samples on line?

That album is a little gem, and almost every song on it is terrific. Jay & Ed Burch were a great team.

I was going to say the exact thing, but I figured it would fall on deaf ears, go unread since I give him enough guff...

That album is terrific and worth owning--and can be had for very cheap on amazon...

How many times have I said that? It's not like they are Neubauten or Can.

+1 here. A bit of ambient noise and wasted space on a CD hardly puts them in an experimental category for me,in my opinion it just fucks up a good song and album for a few minutes is all. And can you believe this. I have never heard of Neubauten but as I type this they are fucking being played on Rage, a late night film clip show here. Check the play list here between AM and 1.30AMhttp://www.abc.net.au/rage/archive/s2280815.htmThat has to be the biggest coincidence out of a few I have experienced on this board

Oh I think it is gonna be a Wilco weekend. I do really need listen to whole albums again. I have been listening to songs at random too much lately. I will have a lil listening party and report back.

That's some playlist (and some coincidence!) Loadsa good stuff there. Einsturzende Neubauten are probably best known for being the main band of Blixa Bargeld, who played (and screamed) with Nick Cave in the Bad Seeds for many years.

Kiss my rear end, "miss". Why the unprovoked slam? Don't be pissed because my taste in music is better than your own.

It's certainly the BEST song. Fact.

OPINION does NOT equal FACT. The "best" song is a matter of personal taste, and there's a number of strong numbers on that disc. Why don't you pick one up at amazon and listen all the way through instead of sampling--they're cheap and worth having...

Surely in the pages of this thread someone must have just replied "some aren't".

Sonic Youth are experimental. John Zorn, The Residents and Animal Collective are experimental. Wilco? Not so much.
Whatever. All the funny noises, distortion, etc. are completely unnecessary. Tweedy has even called some of their later music unlistenable. Great. Also, I like a lot more than just The Eagles & Jeff Lynne.
