That's their rehearsal space in St. Paul. Yesterday was Day 1: just some warm-up "jamming," getting comfortable with the set-up, running through some ideas, etc. The 4 track digital recorder is set up right now to serve as a sonic notepad, hopefully to capture all of the brilliant ideas that the band will be coming up with in the coming months.

Heading into the studio for demos and eventual tracking is still a ways off but if there's going to be a new Jayhawks studio album this was the first step on that journey. Considering that as recently as last summer Gary didn't seem all that interested in discussing the possibility of new Jayhawks music, this is a fairly remarkable turn of events. The success of all the recent touring and the abundant good vibes surrounding the band right now definitely seems to be having an effect - the "happy train" just keeps on rolling. Color me "optimistic."
