Everly Brothers
Last night at the Beacon was wonderful.
The band was tight,Mark was rockin and his playing was great, Karen was solid (and you could hear those tickles) and Gary was rippin. On the way out of the Beacon I couldn't get out of my head how their harmonies were so "Everly Brothers" like. I took a ride today to Breezy Point, walked the beach with the Mrs, and played their greatest hits CD on the way down in the car. Singing all the way. For all of you, do yourselves a favor and watch the Everly Brothers on you tube do Crying In The Rain or So Sad (To Watch good Love Go Bad) or Let It Be Me. Marvelous stuff. Thank you Jayhawks for a nice evening. |

I am a huge fan of the Everly Brothers. The blend they create is second to none in my opinion. Let It Be Me can bring me to tears. I had the pleasure of seeing them live a few years back when they did a few songs before Simon & Garfunkle. There are some moments in some of the "older" Hawks tunes that Gary and Mark sound like them a little.

Speaking of the Everly Brothers... They did "Love Hurts" as part of the encore in Philly on Saturday
