Change yer mind much Lars?

The album ultimately leaked onto the internet on September 2, 2008. When asked in an interview about the album leaking, drummer Lars Ulrich said:

“ Listen, we're ten days from release. I mean, from here, we're golden. If this thing leaks all over the world today or tomorrow, happy days. Happy days. Trust me. Ten days out and it hasn't quote-unquote fallen off the truck yet? Everybody's happy. It's 2008 and it's part of how it is these days, so it's fine. We're happy. ”

He wasn't such a happy camper a few years ago...

To be fair to Lars (boo hiss!), he wasn't the only musician against Napster/file sharing - in fact, he was encouraged to take a stand and as soon as he started getting it in the neck left, right and centre all his buddies who were behind him suddenly fell silent.

Still, he deserves it for being a crap drummer.

His drumming on the track "My Apocalypse" is absolutely comical.

Isn't he the biggest dickhead in music?

I do hate Metallica though, so I shouldn't be commenting!

It's quite alright to hate Metallica.
I work with someone who can't stand the fact that they've sold over a 100 million albums. He whines about the money a wee bit. I just crank up my iPod and sing "I'm madly in anger with you" over and over.
Metallica is relationship music, no doubt.

I have heard a grand total of one Metallica song. The one that is on one of the Guitar Hero games and I had to play it to continue the game. It was shit.

I can only assume the rest of the songs suck as well.

To be honest Jo, it's a genre that I'm not that much into. I tend to like the early stuff that sort of morphed into metal later on. Like Blue Cheer, Budgie, Deep Purple. I do like early Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. I liked Dimebag Darrell's guitar playing and his band.

That 80's hair stuff shit was a joke. And Metallica well I just don't like their music at all. And their members seem such a bunch of precious dicks.

I don't lump Metallica into the "hair stuff" camp at all. The "hair bands" were all about getting laid and partying, and their music reflected those "values".

Neither do I. I wasn't putting them in that class, I was just saying that I didn't like them either.

Gotcha.
I just downloaded the next two songs from their album, since the new one rocks so much and I was told it was the "slowest" song on the record.
I recommend "And Justice For All" to anyone. Killer album...

They at least have some redeeming qualities then.
