Susanna Hoffs

Surfing through myspace.com I don't know how I got to Susanna Hoffs' myspace and what a nice surprise to see among her top 8 our beloved Jayhawks

I'm glad you did find that Hoffs site, 'cause that turned me on to the fact that she and Matthew Sweet are releasing a CD of 60's (and one 70's) covers on April 18th! In the words of ex-Texas Rangers outfielder Juan Gonzalez, "I berry hoppy sighted."

I may pick up that cd...I liked what I heard on that page. I also like some Bangles and Matthew Sweet songs. Sounds like a cool cd.

Really looking forward to the Sweet/Hoffs album. I'll buy anything with Sweet's name on it... and I guess this is a continuation of the Ming Tea stuff from the Austin Powers films.

tried to buy it yesterday not realizing it won't be released for another month. I always did like her voice.

I really like the Bangle's version of "We close our eyes." Which is an Oingo Boingo song and was on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie. When I was a teen I got the Bangles' tape for my birthday...it's around here somewhere. LOL!!!!

I think that was a Hoffs solo effort on the Buffy soundtrack and, interestingly enough, I believe it followed a Matthew Sweet track. If she weren't married to Jay Roach, the guy that directed the Austin Powers movies and Meet the Parents/Fockers, I'd speculate that they was DOIN' IT!

That's a fantastic Oingo Boingo song... perhaps my favourite track of theirs. I didn't know Hoffs had covered it, must track it down...

It's one of mine too. I don't have the Hoffs version on cd...the only way I heard it was when I watched the movie years ago.

Ahhh!!! Thanks for the correction about WCOEs!!!! I thought the whole band (Bangles) did it.
