Oh man, how I loved and enjoyed my trip to Rome! It was like 15 months ago since today... Other than personal experiences, what did you enjoy the most Axe, Athens or Rome? I haven't been in Greece, but I find it hard in my mind to get better than Italy...

Athens, hands down. But then, I have at least as many personal reasons as practical ones for that.

I will say that although Athens is an ENORMOUS city, all of the things a typical visitor will want to see are within walking distance of the Acropolis, and my goodness are there a lot of things to see. You could spend 5 days there and enjoy a leisurely time seeing most everything there is to see.

Remember, too, that Rome wouldn't exist were it not for the strength of Greece's foundations.

I won't argue whether one is better than the other. That would be folly. I can say that I enjoyed my time in Athens more than I enjoyed my time in Rome, but that's as much due to being 10 years older (not to mention ten years richer and smarter) as it is to anything else.
