In the next few days, David Poe’s songs will make another incursion into modern culture. Hear these songs roar and echo, like Vikings on a ghost-ship. David is their captain. You know where to find him: lashed to the mast, gnashing his teeth at Beauty, naked but for the luminous cape of stars attached at the neck.

With wood and wire, a few cheap robots, and his lieutenants Word and Melody, musician David Poe has planted his flag on the glorious summit of self-actualization once again. These recordings will transport you to one of the 70 shows David played since last summer. (One of the good ones.)
Under the watchful ears of tour manager Phil Sullivan and the waifish Lish, Duncan and his band and multiple colleagues including Jim Boggia, Teddy Thompson and many more on the Yellow Umbrella Tour to benefit cervical cancer research, David Poe has traveled up and down the East and West coasts and across the middle of America—twice—since last summer. His immense fame and wealth were hard-won.
Included in the live album’s accompanying digital booklet are artist Jamie Wimberly’s amazing cover painting “Swallow In The Barn,” pictures from the tour, lyrics and a live video of “The Pornographer.” If you bought the music already and didn’t get the booklet, fear not: we’ll make it available soon on http://www.davidpoe.com .
DAVID POE: RESPONDING TO YOUR NEEDS
We have heard the mutterings of some who say, why not a new David Poe studio album? Why this constant trotting-out of classic material, with only the occasional new song? Why, when so much new material has been unveiled in live settings? When will the real new record come out?
To them we say, Touché! You have blown the whistle on the most shrewd, hardheaded business decision of David Poe’s career: create multiple versions of the same song! One may enjoy “You’re The Bomb” from the album Love Is Red, but to hear the version WITH ORCHESTRA, one would have to purchase the version on The Late Album ... to say nothing of the visceral live version, included only on the latest release! David is the captain of these songs; they do as he says.
Till David’s next solo record is done, listen to NOT ENOUGH NIGHT, a new recording from his forthcoming studio album at
David and Duncan Sheik are starting a new band collaboration with Matt Johnson, Morgan Taylor and Fil Krohnengold. On tour, David and Duncan played a few songs slated for this effort: LOVES A SINNER appears on the live album. The lads hope to finish their rock record-in-progress this summer.

David Poe Live & Solo for $5.99 on iTunes
I remember seeing David Poe(back when he was still Dave Ponitz) several times in the early
90's before he left Dayton for NYC. I've always liked
the guy but kind of lost track of him the last few years.
I'm glad to see he's still active and making music.
He's a talented guy.
Pay the bill with your boyfriends' plastic.
