And actually I would like it if he didn't keep saying "tailspin" over and over again, the rest of the lyrics are just fine with me.... but I can let it go. It's not some big deal. I don't particularly like the way Mark sings Clifton Bridge on the cd, but I like the song when he plays it live. So fucking what. I don't spend any time on it. That's just the way I feel and I don't expect anyone to have to agree with me.

Just like on some other music boards where you've changed your names numerous times, right? Problems with the password recovery systems? LOL

One of the things that really struck me was that the Dixie Chicks songs sound like the Dixie Chicks to me (never mind that I actually had that album but hadn't bothered to listen to it until hearing Gary in Mad-town) and My Sleepless Nights sounds like Susanna Hoffs (I would have said sweet and uncomplicated instead of cliched). I think it is the mark of an quality writer who can capture another's voice.

I loved the Madison show and I don't think there is very much with an adult contemporary vibe that would inspire me to drop everything on Saturday to see him again in Wabasha. Powerful soft folk yes, adult contemporary, no.

Yay!!! Welcome to the Board CasinoQueen!!! Very nicely put. Gary is one heck of a performer isn't he! He was just so good in Wabasha!

I don't even know what "adult contemporary" means, but Gary's definitely not a pre-programmed or contrived writer/musician. He's a true original.

And I don't much care for that Bob Dylan song Ballad In Plain D, but I like the rest of the album it's on, and I like most all his stuff. Empire Burlesque only has two good songs on it. So what........

I'm not sure I like this Rabid Monkey name now. I'm just not feeling it.
