What shows? I don't have any Jayhawks shows in official live album quality!

If I drop names that would suck for some folks...
Go here, hunt around

Oh, ok, well cool... thank you.

I will.

Any particular shows I should potentially look out for? ;)

Rick V 07-18-2008 04:26 PM

I was at the Saturday night show at First Ave. in December 2003. It was pretty cool when Gary started talking about the MLPS music scene in the 80s and 90s. I hope if anf when the live album is released they include that dialogue.

I was there too, but I had consumed enough food and beverage down the street that the show is kind of a blur. I vaguely remember Gary's spiel about the lamented MLPS music scene.

Okay, I'll bite. I was at all three of the December 2003 shows at First Ave as well. But alas, I had consumed so much beverage there, I don't know that I remember much about it at all. Except that it rocked. :D

Well, look who it is!;)

With all this activity on the music front, seems like a great time to release the Live Album. It would totally be a springboard to getting the Jayhawks back together.

I look forward to the day that Gary and Mark or whoever are driving around the country in a big black sedan saying "We're getting the band back together". It could be a mission from God.

JoMama 08-14-2008 08:03 AM

Beats sitting around listening to Wagner and painting eagles with a paint-by-number set.

Ok, I've reached my quota of posts for the day, Bowman just called and said knock it off and to hurry up and write a review of the new Paul Weller album.

Anybody got Rick Rubin's number?

I think he might have taken his ball and gone home.

We'll find out when Cale posts the entire Spain concert on YouTube for us...

Hardly. Wouldn't imagine they will allow video cameras in there.

Doesn't hurt to ask! Maybe you can get Gary's management to make it possible.

As it turns out, they did!

This on hold business is beginning to feel like when you phone someone like, say, BT!

"Your call is placed in a queue, we do value your call, so please do not hang up and someone will be with you within the next 6 weeks"

And we forgot to mention that they will be half Chinese and half Nigerian and won't have a fucking clue what you are bleating on about. Thank you!

Haggischomper 10-20-2008 12:20 PM

Is the live album dead?

Calexico 10-20-2008 01:15 PM

Deader than Elvis Presley's ball bag!

JayB 01-08-2009 09:39 AM

Chinese Democracy came out, but the Jayhawks Live Album is still eluding us... there's no justice in this world.

You're right. There's just us.
I trust our waiting will be rewarded. Meanwhile, some clever computer work using the YouTube site can assemble you some fine material to tide you over...

Great title for teh album if it ever does come out...

greekguy 06-23-2010 09:52 AM

Now is better time than ever to release this album. Assuming it is mostly in the can, would only whet the appetite for release of the shows over the past weekend.

philipgar 06-23-2010 07:26 PM

I hope they do a special set, release a DVD set from the shows, and include bonus CDs of the whole show as well (or at least have a data portion of the DVD include flacs/mp3s of the shows or something like that). I'm sure there's plenty of great footage and audio from the shows. I'd prefer if they released all of them in their entirety, or at least one show in its entirety, but I'd settle for a compilation of the best of all the shows too.

Phil

Haggischomper 06-23-2010 09:14 PM

I hope Coot gets the album cover. The man deserves the accolades.

greekguy 06-29-2010 04:55 PM

I will settle for a complete unedited copy of all of the 2003 shows, professionally shot with soundboard audio, and it should be free.

Wah? askin too much heah?

JayB 08-05-2011 07:47 AM

If I get to speak to any of them tonight I'll see if I can ask them when this thing is coming out.

Angelyne 02-05-2013 04:40 PM

What was the outcome, Jay? ;)

JayB 02-14-2013 09:50 AM

At the time it might potentially still have been on hold, I'm not entirely sure what the current status is.

Haggischomper 02-15-2013 09:33 AM

So the on hold status is now on hold?

JayB 09-25-2013 06:25 AM

It might be!

Runningpotleaf 10-04-2013 08:14 PM

I've heard its been holding up quite well after all these years....!

ba dum chhh

:D

Runningpotleaf 12-30-2014 08:41 PM

straight from the source, still on hold

http://portlandlive.com/interview-wi...-the-jayhawks/

JayB 01-14-2015 05:32 AM

Seems like it's not so much "on hold" which suggests a finished product which was shelved as something they simply never really completed!

musicdoc 04-03-2015 09:19 AM

yes, that one remains on hold, but in the meantime:

Chris Riemenschneider in today's Star Tribune reported:

""Live at the Belly-Up" a digital only project due April 7th via iTunes, Amazon,Spotify etc. The 20 song, 80 minute set was captured live in January at the Belly Up Tavern near San Diego. With the band's permission, the club's staff recorded the show as part of a series of recordings issued via its website. The recording proved to be of such high quality that the Jayhawks want to give it a wider release. "

JayB 05-04-2017 05:16 AM
