Pearl Jam Twenty chronicles the years leading up to the bandís formation, the chaos that ensued soon-after their rise to megastardom, their step back from center stage, and the creation of a trusted circle that would surround themógiving way to a work culture that would sustain them. Told in big themes and bold colors with blistering sound, the film is carved from over 1,200 hours of rarely-seen and never-before seen footage spanning the bandís career. Pearl Jam Twenty is the definitive portrait of Pearl Jam: part concert film, part intimate insider-hang, part testimonial to the power of music and uncompromising artists.

Looks VERY cool. Being a Mother Love Bone fan beforehand, it was cool getting Ten the day it came out, loving it right away, and then watching them achieve huge fame. It'll be cool to see if there's footage of their very first gigs in there...

Chloe Dancer/Crown Of Thorns is awesome. This Is Shangri-La is a butt-shaker

I like Mother Love Bone...

i got 10 about a month after it was first released, all the other kids in school thought it was shit, until it became a hit at which point they all wanted to copy it! One of my friends worked in a CD shop, so he'd always put a stack of albums aside for me he thought I might like, then sell them to me at quite a discount... this was one of them. Hollywood Town Hall and Shake Your Money Maker as well... great friend to have.

"Ten" was an absolutely brilliant album, but all the rest you can have with the exception of a single here or there. I've always respected the band, though, and this should be a great doc.

In school?!? :(

Anyway, this is a biog/doc sort of thing is it? Rush : Beyond The Lighted Stage is the one to beat lately. That was super.

Haggischomper 07-27-2011 12:23 PM

The Rush one was fantastic!

wheelhousetunes 07-27-2011 01:45 PM

The recent Foo Fighters and Queen ones are really good, too.

Aye... it came out in early 1991, right? I was 16 or 17.

Jeebus.

wheelhousetunes 07-28-2011 02:24 PM

I think it was August of 1991.

JayB 07-29-2011 02:46 AM

In that case I would have been 17.

EDIT: According to wikipedia, you are correct: "Released on August 27, 1991".
