Just saw this album announced on Amazon to be released in December: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B017J7GOP6?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

It is always good news a new album by the band. My wonder is if this has been band approved.

Absolutely NOT band approved. Unfortunately, there's a loophole in British copyright law that exempts live shows that were broadcast on the radio and are over 20 years old from any protection. This is a very common Jayhawks bootleg (originally broadcast by KFOG) that has freely circulated for years. As for how it will be sourced, your guess is as good as mine, but it's very likely they'll just use circulating digital files with little if any additional mastering. So it's basically an unauthorized bootleg that just happens to be legal outside the US.

Thanks for clarifying this! :)

I've noticed the same scenario for REM. It has been happening for the past couple of years. Below are just some of the releases.

The Replacements, too. Their 1991 farewell gig from the WXRT broadcast - and on vinyl!
