The Jayhawks will be performing at The Turf Club in St. Paul on September 4. This will be the smallest room the band has played a full show in their hometown since the late 90s. A "special' evening is promised as a warm up to the shows in the First Ave. mainroom the following two nights. Pulling songs out of a hat, having the audience vote on the setlist in advance, playing an entire album in sequence…these are some of the ideas that are being kicked around. Tickets go on sale this Friday at noon.

Boy, I don't know. I think this one might sell out.

Wow, that really sweetens the pot for a potential trip to Minneapolis this summer... we wouldn't have to wait until next year, either...

I'd kill... er, um I mean, I'd be willing to be uncharacteristically cruel to something, if it meant I got to hear them do Dillard and Clark's Out On The Side, which I recently found out they did on the Sound Of Lies tour in 1997, although I've never heard a recording of a Jayhawks performance of that incredibly fantastic and beautiful song...

"Revolution Blues" recently made its return to the setlist in Europe, so there's a pretty good chance we'll hear that one at some point during the September shows...

from songs played on their 12.31.98 show that haven't been played much (if any) since then:

Young Queer
Queen

And another vote for "I Don't Want"

I asked Tim about that, and he said he was reluctant to play it again because he thought it might be offensive. I guess it's a "rarity" for a reason :)

Pulled the trigger and just got our tix for the Turf Club and First Ave shows! I'm stoked to see this lineup in its hometown!

I hope to meet up with some of the characters from this board and put faces to the names. Who's all going to the shows? See ya there!

When the "Ticket Fees" for the concert tickets you sell equal 30% of the face value of the ticket, your organization is filled with rapists.

One day, I hope execs for ticket companies line up outside the venue so they can receive the haymakers to the face these charges entitle us to.

I only paid $2 in fees per ticket.

The Electric Fetus might still have a few. Or The Depot. Give 'em a call.

just tried again and the ticket link is now showing tickets for sale. My email receipt says ticket fee's are to be $9+. I think GG is pulling our leg

The Depot sold all their tickets. Not sure if the Fetus has any left...

Ticket fees are one thing, airfare is quite another...

Agreed, Joe. I know of many times when the ticket price, with or without fee, was on the lower end of my expenses for a concert trip.

I voted for Out On The Side for my write in. Longshot, but I can hope! They did play it on the Sound Of Lies tour with this lineup, right?

You know I've been going to the Turf Club for nearly 20 years and never once have been in the Clown Lounge. Maybe it's time.
