Has anyone else *not* been getting e-mail notifications for replies to watched threads lately? It had always worked for me before, but over the past week or two I haven't been getting notifications.

I changed my email address here and thought I wasn't getting notices to my new address due to some related issue- but maybe it's a different issue.

No updates and maybe that's a problem since the board is an older version. Unfortunately I'm at a total loss to explain why it would all of a sudden stop sending email alerts. Is it still not working???

Hi Sandy!

I just double checked my settings to make sure I still had the notification checked- I do. Still no notices. I check my SPAM box on Gmail to make sure I'm not missing something- nothing there.

Maybe it's a Gmail thing? I switched from yahoo. IDK. Not the end of the world I suppose.

Thanks :-)

I do. But it was previously working, and there's nothing in my spam folder.

I think my old AOL address is the one I use for this board. I check that email regularly. I haven't seen any email notices in a few weeks.

My thought too. Looks like his last activity was 2 years ago. Unfortunately this kind of thing is beyond my expertise but I will try to poke around a little more this weekend when I have some time. Other than that I may have to bite the bullet and invest in an upgrade.

Hmmm...this brings back fond memories of the "Kuwaity Hacker"... ;)

He's still listed as an admin. If he's willing that would be great or at least if he had a clue as to what was going on. I noticed that they had the same problem on the Via Chicago board a couple of years ago.

hellooooooo :D

usually when i've had issues of thread email notifications not working in the past on other forums/sites, it's been due to a server/host issue with outgoing email either a) not working or b) being filtered out as spam.

i can take a look and see if there's any options that have been changed as of late, but you might need to contact the boards host/server at that point.

i'll let you know what i find.

Anybody see any difference? Solace kindly took a look yesterday and upgraded the board to see if that would work. If not though, I will have to contact the host...

Oh you watch your language, young lady! :-)

What does drats mean anyway? Just wondering.

I watched a LOT of cartoons in my day so I absorbed it from them. I guess I use it for a bit of a comic effect. ;) From UrbanDictionary.com:

#2. drats
expletive often used by supervillains who have seen their evil plots and schemes foiled or sabotaged. see also curses!
drats! those meddlesome do-gooders have somehow reversed the effects of my shrink ray!

#6. drats
An expression of frustration similar to "darn." May have derived from Thelma on Scooby Doo, but drats, I'm not sure.
Drats, I screwed up again.

And it's a legit Scrabble word....

From Websters:

dratĚteddratĚting

Definition of DRAT
: damn Śused as a mild oath

Origin of DRAT
probably euphemistic alteration of God rot
First Known Use: 1815

From Dictionary.com:

drats
drat

verb (used with object), dratĚted, dratĚting.
1.
to damn; confound: Drat your interference.
interjection
2.
(used to express mild disgust, disappointment, or the like): Drat, there goes another button off my shirt.
Origin:
1805ľ15; alteration of (o)d rot God rot (i.e., may God rot him, her, it)
